A TOOL WITHIN SOCIAL WORK SUPPORT

Exploring hypnosis,
together.

As part of social work support, I may suggest hypnosis when it is appropriate for your situation and goals. The exercise draws on attention, imagination and suggestions tailored to what you would like to explore. We first take time to discuss your needs, expectations and comfort.

Participation is voluntary. During the exercise, you can ask questions, pause or stop at any time.

A few helpful
answers.

What is hypnosis?

In my approach, hypnosis is a guided exercise that draws on your attention and imagination. You are invited to notice what you feel and take part in the conversation, according to your comfort.

Will I fall asleep or lose control?

Hypnosis invites you into an altered state of consciousness that may feel like being between sleep and wakefulness. You can take part in the conversation and describe your sensations or observations. I guide you in a supportive setting tailored to your situation, paying attention to your comfort throughout the exercise.

Is hypnosis suitable for me?

Hypnosis is a tool whose value comes from the support surrounding it. Depending on your situation and goals, we may consider using it to explore emotional needs or everyday habits, including:

  • Finding ways to cope with stress and anxiety
  • Encouraging relaxation and exploring sleep difficulties
  • Building self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Understanding and making room for emotions such as fear, anger or sadness
  • Navigating grief or a difficult period
  • Coping with mental overload and exhaustion
  • Exploring difficulties in family relationships
  • Supporting changes in everyday habits
  • Supporting an effort to stop smoking
  • Exploring the emotional experience of pain, alongside medical care
  • Preparing emotionally for birth, alongside perinatal care

We take time to discuss your needs and consider whether this tool is appropriate for your situation and within my scope of practice. When needed, collaboration with other professionals or referral to an appropriate resource may be suggested.

Can hypnosis sessions take place online?

Yes, sessions can take place online while you are in Quebec. We first discuss your needs to see whether this format suits you and plan for a quiet, private setting.

How many sessions will I need?

The number varies with your circumstances, goals and progress. We discuss this together; no number of sessions or outcome is guaranteed.
